    • Simply dampen the mould to prevent rice sticking, press in freshly cooked rice, and release two evenly shaped rice balls in seconds.

  • This mould is made from hinoki (Japanese cypress), which contains high concentration of natural oils and resin from the wood. A slight sheen, oil spots, or mild stickiness may appear, especially when new.

    This is completely normal and does not affect the safety or quality of the product. In fact, the oil is a sign of high-quality, natural wood. The natural oils will decrease over time with regular use.
     

    Before First Use:
    • Rinse lightly with water (do not use soap).
    • Soak in clean water for 5–10 minutes.
    • Air dry completely in a well-ventilated area.
     

    Before Each Use:
    • Lightly wet the mould to prevent rice from sticking.
     

    After Use:
    • Handwash only. Do not soak in water for a long time.
    • Wipe dry and allow to air dry thoroughly to prevent cracking.
    • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat.
