Nori-ten with Salmon Caviar 海苔といくらのカナッペ


1. Cut one sheet of nori seaweed into bite-size pieces.


2. Combine water, plain flour, and salt to make the batter.


3. Dip one side of the nori seaweed in the batter.


4. Make sure the oil is very hot before you fry the nori, otherwise it won’t be crispy. Fry the side with the batter first. Once it has turned golden, turn over and fry the other side for 5 seconds.


⭐️ Before putting salmon caviar and wasabi on top, let the nori-ten (“のり天” nori seaweed tempura) cool on a rack completely so that it doesn’t go soggy.


Where to buy salmon caviar. You can buy salmon caviar/ salmon roe from fishmongers or supermarkets. In this recipe, we use the salmon caviar from Elsinore, which is available at Ocado and Waitrose.
